DELINQUENT TAX INFOMATION

CHANCERY COURT COLLECTS UNION COUNTY DELINQUENT PROPERTY TAXES

After Two (2) years of delinquency on property taxes, the Trustee’s Office will file a lawsuit with the Chancery Court with a list of the delinquent taxpayer’s property.

Delinquent tax increases by 1.5% each month the tax is delinquent and additional fees will be added at the time of filing and during the period the delinquent tax is unpaid.

The Chancery Court cannot accept partial payments on a parcel of property.  The oldest year of taxes owed to Union County should to be paid first before a more current tax year is paid.  DELINQUENT TAXES SHOULD BE PAID IN CHANCERY COURT ON THE TAXES FILED IN THE LAWSUIT BEFORE CURRENT TAXES OWED.

A DELINQUENT TAX SALE IS SCHEDULED BY THE CLERK AND MASTER OF THE CHANCERY COURT AND THE DELINQUENT TAX ATTORNEY.
